December Daily 2015 — Days 2 through 4

Slowly I am getting the time to start putting some of my pages together and getting them posted here. December is just so darn busy! First up are two nice and simple days. Day two is a glimpse at a lunch I had with a good friend, and day three an image of the girls cuddled up with popcorn for our annual night of viewing Rudolph. Even though we own the video I am one of those people that has to have the shared experience of watching it with the rest of the country–commercials and all!

First up — day two:

The 4×6 card is actually a flip up, so there is journaling underneath. (Handwritten journaling so I am pretty sure it’s getting swapped out for something digital. I just can’t seem to write in a way I like!) This cute card is another one from pretty little studio, and the polka dot card is a heidi swap PL card I believe. (As is the star clip on top. I love that clip and wish I had more! These are all thanks to my December Daily mail swap. Best idea ever, as these are things I wouldn’t have necessarily bought on my own.)

When you flip the #2 tag over you get the day 3:

I really lucked out with the photo. Walgreens (were I do my printing for this project) is really hit or miss in terms of exposure but thankfully this photo is dark enough to keep the magic of the nighttime alive, without losing all the detail on their faces. I just love how this photo turned out–well worth the work of moving a big easy chair out of the way! (There typically is a chair behind where the girls are sitting but it blocked the tree so I moved it across the room.)

Day four was a recap of Holly’s piano recital which I sadly had to miss because of work. I did manage to grab a photo of them before they left with my “good camera” in their precious new Christmas jackets, and relied on my husband to iPhone me the rest. These albums are always a team effort! After two simple days it was nice to do a two page spread:

The only change I made between taking this photo and writing up this blog post was an addition of a tab on the edge of the 2-up 3×4 insert between the two larger pages. I used one from last year’s December Daily kit I had left over, and I like how it makes that little insert stand out a bit more. On the bigger photo on the left I used some of my trusty gold scalloped tape and the banner from Ali’s main kit this year.

When the insert is clipped this is the view:

It wasn’t until I photographed these pages that I added the scallops on the right side. Funny how you look at everything differently when it’s in a photo–and you are able to pull back and really see the layout from another viewpoint.

Days 5-9 are in the works, hope to get them posted tomorrow!
